Thursday 27 November, 12 midday and 6pm: The Linenhall, Castlebar

Due to continuing great engagement with young people and all ages with additional needs, encouraging future audiences, WhistleBlast celebrates its 21st year with a return to nationwide venues for another of its wonderful multimedia tours -MusicalVoyagesMagicalVisuals

The first performance is in Town Hall Theatre, Galway on Tuesday 9 November at 12 noon. Duration 60 mins. Admission only €1. Book at tht.ie

Followed by performances in Dublin, Manorhamilton, Tullamore and Castlebar, Co Mayo.

Highly accessible to 5th and 6th class primary students and all secondary years (mainstream and all ages of persons with additional needs), MusicalVoyagesVisualMagic will feature the quartet’s greatest hits including Stravinsky’s Petrushka, Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue, Mussorgsky’s Pictures at an Exhibition, Prokofiev’s Peter and the Wolf and more - all accompanied by captivating visual images and video footage.

WhistleBlast (known for their lively and engaging performances and consisting of Kenneth Edge, Mary Curran, Oonagh Keogh, Conor Linehan), will perform selections from these symphonic masterpieces accompanied by compelling imagery and video, including a shadow puppet animation, images from contemporary artists and the iconic photographer Ernst Haas, making these concerts truly unique and immersive for all audiences with or without a musical background; WhistleBlast aims to inspire and encourage all ages to develop or begin their journey of exploring exciting live performance.  The quartet’s mini orchestral sound is a great introduction to this world of wonderful music. Performances are one hour in duration and will be followed by a short Q&A session with the musicians.

These multimedia concerts by WhistleBlast are a fabulous introduction to the world of live music with interesting visual accompaniments and are designed to engage with younger and public audiences. The media content broadens sensory engagement allowing young future digital and art careerists to see how this form of performance can be put together and create such impact.

WhistleBlast is also offering pre-concert workshops in your own locations. Please apply for a workshop through contacts on www.whistleblastquartet.com  These workshops will provide informative performance by the musicians and examples of what the concerts will include, plus an opportunity for students to interact with music and ask questions regarding both live music and visual content. Facilitated by Dr Kenneth Edge and quartet's director Mary Curran. 60 mins duration. Available to any interested group.
