The Annual Graduate Online Citizenship & Democracy Programme for Post-Primary students
Dear Teacher,
The annual Graduate.ie Online Citizenship & Democracy Programme for post-primary students recommenced on Monday, September 15th and will run for 20 weeks, concluding in March 2026.
This programme offers one of your students a chance to represent their school and county at the European Parliament in Strasbourg in 2026, alongside 23 other students from across Ireland.
Key Details
Who can participate: 3rd, 4th, and 5th year students
Number of winners: 24 students from across Ireland will be selected over the course of the 20 weeks
Prize: A free 3-day trip to Strasbourg, including:
- One full day at the European Parliament
- Participation in a youth parliament with students from other EU member states
- The opportunity to sit in MEP seats and debate pre-selected topics on the EU and its impact on daily life
Programme Content
Weekly quiz questions will cover areas such as:
- Environment & waste management
- Health & safety
- Financial literacy
- Democracy & participation
- Local & regional government
- Tourism
- European affairs
- Children’s rights
We provide hyperlinks to the location of the correct answers. Winners will be randomly selected by computer from all correct entries.
