Fleadh Cheoil Mhaigh Eo - Cuimsiú (Inclusive) Competition

Following the success of last year's Cuimsiú Competition, Mayo Comhaltas have confirmed that the Cuimsiú Fleadh competition for people with a disability/additional need will run again at Fleadh Cheoil Mhaigh Eo 2025. We see this as an opportunity to develop participation and enjoyment of traditional Irish music arts for all in Mayo. We hope to build on the success of last year's competition. The competition will be confined to Co. Mayo in 2025.

Support Person Guidlines
The Cuimsiú Competition will take place at St. Mary's Secondary School, Ballina, on Sunday, May 11th.
- Competitors may choose to perform with or without an audience and can also decide whether the audience is permitted to clap.
- The competition is divided into four age groups:
- Under 12
- 12-15
- 15-18
- Over 18 (Senior)
- Each competitor must be accompanied by an adult support person for the duration of their attendance at the Fleadh.
- Competition registration will take place at the Cuimsiú Fleadh Office.
- Adjudicators’ reports will be available for collection at the Cuimsiú Fleadh Office after the competitions.
- Cuimsiú competitor photographs will be taken immediately after their competition in the competition room. Fleadh photographs will also be available in the main Fleadh office for those who wish to avail of them.
- Permission slips must be obtained from the Cuimsiú Fleadh Office to record a family member’s performance.
- Competitors and their support persons are responsible for organizing any required instruments (e.g., keyboard for instrumental competitors) or music for sean-nós dancing competitions.
- The Fleadh Clár will be available for purchase at the admission door and in advance of the weekend.
