Summer Course for Teachers in Deafblindness (EPV Approved) 2025
We are happy to share the details of our Summer EPV Approved Course for teachers.
Dates: July 7-11th, 2025
Time: 10am-12pm
(online)
Please share with anyone who you think might be interested, they don't need to be working with a child with dual sensory loss, but if they are or are new to this area, it would be a great introductory course.
It would be particularly helpful for a teacher who will have one of the students we support next year in their classroom and want to gain some useful strategies for working with that child. Again, deafblindness includes children who are deaf/hard of hearing and blind/visually impaired to any degree. So, children who may wear glasses plus hearing aids/cochlear implants are all under the remit of students we support. Please get in touch if you have any questions.

Some feedback from last year's attendees:
"This course was phenomenal. So unusual to have a course that is aimed at the level of students in special schools. Ably presented by Deirdre and Sorcha. Great to have teachers working in the same area in the same room and sharing strategies. The picture examples are great for future reference. It was so well presented. Thank you."
"I found this course really helpful from a simulation point of view. Putting myself in the learner’s shoes in a very practical way, wondering how they are accessing content."
