Expression of Interest form for 2025 Transitions Project.

Following on from the success of Tús Maith - Transitions in Action over the past three years, the Education Centre Directors in Mayo, Sligo, Donegal and Carrick-on-Shannon (covering Leitrim, Roscommon and Longford) in collaboration with County Childcare Committee Managers are delighted to offer this innovative collaborative project on Transition from Preschool to Primary School again for the school year 2024-2025.

Tús Maith: Transitions in Action –

A Preschool to Primary School Project 2024-2025

Who can participate?

A partnership of at least one Junior Infant Teacher and one Early Years Educator from feeder schools is required.  Partnerships can consist of more than one primary school or preschool.

What are the benefits of taking part?

·                  Gain an understanding of the curricula/framework/methodologies in both preschool and infant classes

·                  Establish good relationships between their partner preschools/primary schools

·                  Examine current challenges & opportunities in the transition space

·                  Agree protocols for the sharing of information between both settings

·                  Formulate a number of practical strategies to ease the transition process for all stakeholders

How many sessions are there?

·                  Four webinars and one face to face meeting throughout the 2024-2025 school year:

28th Jan, 

25th Feb,

25th March, 

29th April (face to face), 

13th May (Additional Optional Webinar facilitated by County Childcare Committees),

27th May.

·                  First webinar 28th  January 2025 7:00-8:30pm.

·                  One face to face session in your local Education Centre in April 2025.

·                  Opportunities to meet with your partnering preschool/primary school.

When is the closing date to sign up

The expression of interest closing date is Friday 10th January 2025.

How do I register my school/preschool?

You can register simply by filling in the form below.
NB: All schools or preschools in the partnership must register using the form below. 

Your partner school/preschool must also register in order for the partnership to be valid. Please check with your partners to confirm that they are interested and have completed this form also.
