Christmas Shoeboxes for Chernobyl orphans
We would like to ask you, would your school consider taking part in our Annual Christmas shoeboxes appeal for the orphans of the Chernobyl area, Ukraine. Our charity helps a number of orphanages in the Ukraine and Belarus area. This year we have over 700 children awaiting a little gift at Christmas. Having visited the orphanages ourselves, we know the great appreciation there is for even the smallest of gifts. The main thing is that the children do not feel forgotten and that keeps us all going.
There are a number of schools and clubs around Mayo participating in this good cause already, but we need some more support, so that no child is left out.
If you would like to give us a hand and ask your pupils to bring a little shoe box to school from Monday, the 22nd till Friday, the 26th of November, we would appreciate it a lot. Our volunteers can arrange pick up of the shoeboxes. We appreciate that there is little time but if you can help, that would be wonderful.
We have attached the guidelines and stickers to be used if anyone is willing to create a gift for the orphans this Christmas.
