Helping Our Homeless - A Gift for Schools
Sixty Photographs for Simon
The book is an eclectic collection of images harvested from an extensive archive that Vincent compiled over a period of two decades during work-related travel. Twenty-five countries are represented in a broad geographical sweep which encompasses the Arctic, Scandinavia, Europe, Africa, South America, Antarctica and Asia. Each of the 60 photographs is accompanied by a short text which provides succinct details about various aspects of the image.
He is currently organising distribution of his book as a gift to schools countrywide via the Education Support Centres Ireland network, the directors and staff of which have kindly offered their assistance.
A little background on myself. I am an archaeologist, educator, and heritage specialist. I work as a lecturer for an expedition cruise company, Lindblad Expeditions, on their expedition cruise ship National Geographic Explorer. I have travelled extensively in this capacity to many remote locations around the world, from the Arctic to Antarctic. I also worked as an Expedition Leader for an International Trek Company, Across the Divide, for 8 years.
A freelance heritage specialist, I have been involved in Irish tourism since the early 1990s. I design and deliver a wide range of educational programmes and lecture on a broad spectrum of subjects. In addition, I am one of Ireland’s leading tour guide trainers and worked for many years as Co-ordinator and Lead Tutor on Fáilte Ireland’s National Tour Guide Training Programme.
