First Aid Response (FAR)
The aim is to provide the First Aid Responder with the skills necessary to give effective first aid, to deal with emergencies, to assess and treat injuries and to maintain care and comfort of the casualty until medical treatment can be provided.
Pre-hospital Emergency Care Council certificate is issued upon completion, this is valid for
two years and thereafter the participant must undertake a two-day responder first aid
Re-certification course.
An interactive approach to learning the basic life support for victims of;
- Stroke;
- Cardiac arrest;
- Heart attack;
- Choking
- Unconsciousness
- Bleeding
- Musculoskeletal Injuries
- Burns
- Communication
A training DVD is used to learn about CPR and using an AED
Lunch and refreshments will be provided
