Contingency Planning for unexpected School Closure for Pupils with Special Educational Needs





This webinar explores the field of distance learning in the event of an unexpected school closure in line with DES guidelines. It looks at strategies and supports for pupils with special educational needs.

Geraldine O Loughlin is a teaching Principal of Scoil Mhuire Náisiunta, Corofin, Co Clare. She has a graduate Diploma and a Masters of Education in the area of Special Education, from Mary Immaculate College. She is currently on secondment with the National Council for Special Education, working as a member of the Primary Inclusion Team. 

Marie Ryan, Admin Principal of Birdhill National School, in County Tipperary.  Strong background in Special Education, including a Master’s Degree in Special Education, and 12 year’s experience in  St Vincent’s Special School, Lisnagry.  Currently on secondment with the NCSE, working with the Primary Inclusion Team and supporting Special Schools in the implementation of the Primary Language Curriculum.
