This series of webinars will explore the role of playful teaching and learning in the infant classroom and beyond. The first webinar will focus on the features and functions of playful learning; the use of play as a strategy to support transition; and the role of guided play in the infant classroom. The second webinar will focus on creating a continuum of playful learning in the infant classroom; progression in play in the infant, middle and senior classes; the relationship between play and assessment; and co-constructing playful learning with children.

Lisha O’Sullivan is Head of the Department of Reflective Pedagogy and Early Childhood Studies at MIC, Limerick. Lisha lectures in early childhood education at MIC and supervises students’ research at undergraduate, Master’s and PhD levels. A qualified Play Therapist, Lisha’s research interests include early years curriculum and pedagogy, the role of play in development and inclusive education.
