Something Fishy - Expressions of Interest
Inland Fisheries Ireland in conjunction with Mayo Education Support Centre are delighted to offer the Something Fishy Programme for Primary Schools. Something Fishy is an Educational Programme, aimed at Primary school pupils aged between 10-13 years (5th – 6th class), which informs and educates students on fish, water, the environment and angling. The programme will comprise of school visits including a power point presentation with Q&A session and field trips to a (local) river or stream including biological sampling and electro fishing (weather dependent).
All schools are invited to participate in a class projects. There will be prices for the winning school. The winning school will also proceed to the “All Ireland Final” where further prices can be won. Mayo Education Support Centre will hold an online information meeting via Zoom for participating schools early in the new year. The meeting will be facilitated by Markus Mulle of Inland Fisheries Ireland.
