Understanding and working with Neuro-diversity in the Classroom - Registration will open for this course from 16th August onward

Whether it is in the primary or post-primary setting, neuro-diversity (such as ADHD, ADD, dyslexia, dyspraxia, ASD) are present in every mainstream classroom.

Whilst we are gaining a greater understanding of how neuro-diverse students experience the current educational environment, their many strengths and how we can support them to thrive, often the complexities of their presentations can present specific challenges for their learning and well-being and for their teachers and support staff.

In this webinar we will explore the following questions and topics:

·         What is Neuro-diversity?

·         How does Neuro-diversity present in primary and post-primary students?

·         A focus on celebrating students' strengths and enhancing a richer understanding of their specific challenges.

·         How can we support neuro-diverse students in our classrooms and learning environments within the current model of mainstream education?

·         How can you bring a greater awareness of neuro-diversity to your existing experience and knowledge as an educator and identify specific strategies that will help you support your students.

In preparation for this webinar, you are invited to reflect on your experiences you have had with neuro-diverse students and the strengths as well as challenges they have presented with. You may wish to reflect on what you have found useful in order to support these students, and indeed to support yourself as their teacher or support staff.
