Infant Teachers Support Group
This session will focus on developing children's awareness in the infant classes. We will examine approaches. share experiences and consider ways to implement these strategies in the infant classroom. Open to all school staff who are currently teaching Infants. It is expected that the group will meet three times a year face to face in the centre, and communicate via a dedicated WhatsApp group in between face to face meetings.

Primary Deputy Principals Support Group Face to Face Session
Mayo Education Centre is delighted to be in a position to offer support to Primary Deputy Principals by means of a Support Group. It is intended that this group will meet approx. 4 times a year (i.e. once a term). Participants will also have access to a Primary Deputy Principal’s Whats App Group for support, communication and sharing of ideas outside of the regular meetings. Facilitated Professional Learning Day for Primary Principals
These facilitated sessions aim to build professional networks among school leaders. They will allow participants to explore together the current pressing issues associated with leading their schools and provide an opportunity for personal and collaborative reflection. These in-person sessions will be held termly in Mayo Education Centre from 9.15am to 2.30pm and participants will be grouped based on their Principal Release Days. Lunch will be provided. Principals who attend the in-person event will also gain access to a Primary Principal’s WhatsApp Group for continued support, communication and the sharing of information and ideas in between the Professional Learning Days. The next round of suport days will be advertised when we have dates.
Primary SEN Support Group
There is a lot of expertise and good practice around the country in relation to the inclusion of students with SEN. This Support Group helps to provide a forum where teachers can share this knowledge and experience with others, particularly those who are new to SEN.

Post Primary SEN Support Group Meeting
Mayo Education Centre is delighted to invite postprimary SEN teachers to join our PostPrimary SEN Support/Discussion Group.
The benefits for participating teachers are as follows:- The Group offers an online platform for SEN or learning support teachers in the Mayo area to connect, share support, guidance, advice, and best practices.- It provides an opportunity for members to discuss current challenges, tap into the collective knowledge and experience of the group, and foster a sense of camaraderie through informal meetings.- Participants will have the chance to collaborate on a Padlet of resources and join a WhatsApp group to further enhance the support network.

Post Primary SEN Coordinators Meeting
Mayo Education Centre is delighted to invite post primary SEN coordinators to a meeting online.
The primary goal of this initiative is to facilitate collaboration among Post Primary SEN coordinators in our region, providing a platform for mutual support, sharing best practices, and discussing challenges and effective solutions to enhance support for students with additional learning needs.
The structure of the group involves three annual face-to-face meetings, supplemented by ongoing communication through a dedicated WhatsApp group. Future meetings of the Post Primary SEN support group will be open to all teachers working in SEN. The benefits for participating teachers are as follows:

An opportunity to network with many other SEN teachers in the Mayo area, offering support, guidance, advice and the sharing of good practice on a regular basis.

An opportunity to tap into the knowledge and experience of the group in order to discuss current pressing issues.

Teacher Professional Communities (TPC’s)
If you would like to convene a small group of like-minded teachers or principals, for the purposes of initiating or developing an educationally relevant project over a period of time, then a TPC may well be the vehicle through which you could do this. Centre for School Leadership
The Centre for School Leadership provides many supports for primary and post primary principals, both experienced and newly appointed. Experienced principals can avail of coaching sessions, which may lead on to coaching for the whole school staff. Newly appointed teachers can avail of a mentoring service. IPPN Leadership Support Callback Service
This Leadership Support Service is designed to make sure that any IPPN member going through a stressful or worrying time will receive appropriate personal as well as professional support. In the event of a crisis situation, critical incident or school tragedy, members of the IPPN Professional Guidance Panel are available to provide 1 to 1 confidential advice and support over the telephone.
